2022 Honda Gold Wing Tour – The Honda Gold Wing has always been a great touring motor, since the first GL1000 in 1975. The 2022 model is perfect for that. Lots of refinements, but the best words remain the same.
You can still choose the manual transmission model and the Gold Wing which is an automatic DCT transmission, but this year the bag is so big especially for more travel, the speakers have a higher rating of 55 watts, and the seat passengers on our Tour model are upgraded.

Engine
The horizontally opposite gold wing six-cylinder engine is notoriously smooth and powerful. The latest version is a 1833cc design that is more than 13 pounds lighter than the previous generation (more than 8 pounds for the DCT version).
ALUMINUM CYLINDER SLEEVE
High-strength aluminum cylinder arms help reduce weight, improve cooling efficiency, and reduce engine length. The boring, short 73mm cylinder, the high-power crankshaft also helps make the engine more compact.
UNICAM CYLINDER HEAD DESIGN
The Gold Wing engine uses a four-valve Unicam cylinder head design. It improves engine performance and power and also contributes to the reduction of engine weight from previous generations. The four-valve per cylinder design is also a big part of Gold Wing’s superior fuel efficiency.
AUTOMATIC DCT 7-SPEED TRANSMISSION
The Gold Wing is available with the revolutionary 7-Speed Automatic DCT. This version shifts faster and smoother than before, and the seventh gear overdrive is perfect for highway cruising.
6-SPEED MANUAL TRANSMISSION

WISHBONE FRONT SUSPENSION FRONT
One look and your eyes will go straight to Honda’s radically engineered double front suspension of the Gold Wing. The innovative design changed the wheel’s travel path through the suspension step, and it allowed us to drive the engine and rider/passenger closer to the front wheels. You get more space, and the handling is amazing.
Frame
This next-generation aluminum frame is significantly lighter and more compact than previous editions. Advanced die-casting allows us to adjust chassis rigidity, giving you a smooth ride and proper handling.
SWINGARM / REAR SUSPENSION
Using our Pro Arm®-sided design, the aluminum swingarm accommodates the Gold Wing shaft drive. The swingarm is connected to the frame using a patented shaft structure that increases stiffness and reduces weight. You get responsive handling and a smoother ride.
ANTI-LOCK BRAKES
All 2022 Gold Wings are equipped with combined anti-lock brakes for exceptional braking power in a variety of road conditions and traction.
UP MODE
The Gold Wing engine offers user-friendly power, you can even choose between four driving modes (Tour, Sport, Rain, and Econ). Each power output mode varies depending on the mode selected. On the Gold Wing Tour model, suspension damping also changes, and shift points on DCT models.
TRUE LIGHT
Reducing the load on motorcycles restores all sorts of benefits, from handling to acceleration to easier maneuverability. The 2022 gold wing cuts nearly 90 pounds compared to previous generations. Lighter weight really changes this motor.
LOW CENTER OF GRAVITY
It’s not just how heavy a motorcycle is; That’s how you distribute that weight. Thanks to horizontally opposite engines, Gold Wings always offer a low center of gravity. The Gold Wing 2022 offers the lowest center of gravity of all bikes in its class. That’s a big advantage in handling and makes the motor feel lighter and easier to maneuver.
RADIAL FRONT BRAKE CALIPERS
The brake times in the Gold Wing are installed similar to those owned by the MotoGP RC213V racing motor. because stiffer mounting reduces the flexibility of the times per and increases the power and taste of the brakes.
ELECTRONIC SUSPENSION FIRST
The Gold Wing Tour suspension has four electronically adjustable modes for a variety of loads. You can select (1) Riders, (2) Passengers with loaded bags, (3) Riders and passengers, and (4) Riders and passengers with loaded bags.

THROTTLE BY WIRE
The 2022 Gold Wing throttle-by-wire system enables features such as four bike riding modes and our exclusive Honda Preferred Torque Control (HSTC), available on our Gold Wing Tour models.
HILL START ASSIST
Both Gold Wing and Gold Wing Tour models are equipped with Hill Start Assist (HSA). This feature temporarily holds the position of your motorcycle on the ramp after you release the brakes and before you enter the throttle, eliminating roll-back drama. It’s a great comfort when starting from a stop on a hill.
SMART LOCK
Your new Gold Wing comes with an electronic smart lock. When the key is near you, you can go straight up, press the button, and leave. The “answer back” feature lets you find your bike in the dark or in a crowded rally parking lot.
INTEGRATED STARTER GENERATOR (ISG)
Merging starters and alternators into one lightweight and compact assembly. This is part of the overall weight saving program of the Gold Wing, and you’ll hear the difference the first time you press the start button.
BACK
Dct Gold Wing models offer exclusive low-speed reverse spins that use engine power, while the Manual-transmission Gold Wing Tour offers unique electric reverse spins. Both systems make it easy to steer your bike out of the parking lot, especially if you need to detour back up the hill.
HONDA SELECTED TORQUE CONTROL (HSTC)
On Gold Wing Tour models, Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC) constantly monitors the speed of your bike’s rear wheels and adjusts torque instantly. This is a great feature when driving in the rain, on sandy, sandy roads, over wet foliage, or anywhere where surface conditions can interfere with traction.
LED LIGHT
All 2022 Gold Wing models feature a complete LED lighting package. The headlights, taillights, and every instrument are LEDs. LEDs not only last longer, but are also lighter and work cooler.
CAT NANO-TECH
Even gold wing paint is high-tech, using BASF nanotechnology. The darkness looks darker, and the lights look brighter. The paint itself has a luxurious wet look. Gold Wing is available in luxurious Deep Pearl Grey colors with standard transmission or DCT. Gold Wing Tour and DCT Tour come in two colors (Candy Ardent Red and Metallic Black). Gold Wing Tour Airbag DCT models are available in Candy Ardent Red colors.
AIRBAGS
Gold Wing pioneered the concept of motorcycle airbags, and the Gold Wing 2022 continues to lead. Available on DCT Tour Airbag models, this product works extra to improve rider safety.
TURN SIGN
You will notice that the Gold Wing front turn signal is integrated into the rearview mirror, and each uses three LEDs. The rear LED turn signal is mounted on the rear light unit and brake light for a clean and integrated display. Best of all, they cancel themselves.
OPTIONAL LAMP
Relieve! Accessory LED lights for your Gold Wing to include optional fog lights, additional brake lights that blend into the top of gold wing tour baggage, and lights inside the trunk and saddle pockets that automatically turn on when the baggage is opened.
COMFORT AND CARGO
NEW BIG TRUNK
accommodates 61 liters, up 11 liters from last year’s model. That means in most cases you can get two XXL full-face helmets there. When combined, luggage and saddlebags give you 121 liters of storage, enough to accommodate what you need for a weekend trip. Accessories include integrated brake lights, auto-on interior lights, and luggage racks.
ELECTRIC WINDSCREEN
You’ll see a few things about the Gold Wing windshield. First, it is electrically controlled, moving up and down within 4.9 inches for the Gold Wing Tour (4.1 inches for the Gold Wing) and changing its angle as it goes up and down. Plus, it automatically remembers the last setting. As you sit closer to the windshield, it has a narrower profile, lower, sportier, yet still offers excellent protection.
Gift
Going back to the 1980s, the Gold Wing was the first bike to introduce fairing with full coverage as original gear, and the latest of these is one of the best. It offers excellent wind and weather protection, yet is slimmer and more aerodynamic than previous-generation models. It also drains more air through fine channels, helping you stay cool on sweltering summer days.

You’ll find plenty of simple switches and special controls on the handlebars of your Gold Wing, ergonomically placed, which gives you simple and intuitive control inputs that take away the frustration. There is also a centralized control knob in the console similar to modern cars.
DRIVER/PASSENGER SEAT
Here are other improvements for 2021, on our Golden Wing Tour model. The upholstery has a new suede-like cover. Riders on each Gold Wing model can enjoy an optional backrest, and on Gold Wing models with no luggage, an optional seat is also available for passengers.
BACKREST NEW PASSENGERS

Baggage
All 2022 Gold Wings feature integrated saddlebags, which are designed enough for most weekend trips. The bag is opened electronically at the push of a button, and locks and unlocks remotely with a smart button. They are also hydraulically meddled for smooth operation.
FUNCTIONAL STYLE
Sometimes it’s a little better, at least in terms of motorcycles. We have noted that the Gold Wing is lighter, more responsive, more athletic than previous generations. That goes for style too. While the bodywork still offers excellent weather protection, it is now sharper, exposing slightly more of the engine and chassis.

Available as an optional feature, HomeLink® lets you integrate your new Gold Wing with your home device. A common example: You can open a home garage door without a dedicated controller — just touch the button on the center console of your bike. No more groping, and no fuss.
TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM (TPMS)
Proper tire inflation is the need for a safe and economical motorcycle. And that’s very important with touring bikes because the load varies. The Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) automatically warns you of low tire pressure on all Gold Wing models. On the Gold Wing Tour model, including the actual front and rear pressure readings in the PSI is a premium touch.
ADVANCED METERS
The Gold Wing cockpit gauge is the information center. In addition to basics such as vehicle and engine speed, loading configuration, ride mode, fuel level, engine temperature, and a double trip meter, you can also monitor outside air temperature, cruise control speed, heating level, and even certain apps linked via CarPlay® on Apple® iPhone® or Android Auto on android phones.
ANDROID AUTOMATIC INTEGRATION
In Gold Wing 2022 it’s fully integrated with your phone, thanks to Android Auto. That means you can connect your Android phone to the Gold wing to access the Google Assistant, and use navigation tools like Google Maps, Waze, and more. Plus, you’ll have access to weather, playlists, music streaming services, and phone numbers.
Navi
Each Gold Wing and Gold Wing Tour is equipped with a large, bright, colored seven-inch TFT LCD screen to display routes and other navigation information. In addition, because it is equipped with a gyrocompass compass, the system even functions inside the tunnel. Regardless of apple car play ™ or Android Auto features, it works with or without your phone.
Audio
Your new Gold Wing audio system is an excellent example of state-of-the-art electronic technology. In addition to listening to music, with an available Bluetooth headset, you can make or answer phone calls without removing your helmet.

Gold Wings has always offered an excellent sound system, but for 2022 they are for the better. The speaker now has a higher 55-watt rating, and we’ve optimized equalizer settings and automatic volume adjustment, so you’ll get a slightly richer, more listening sound.
